Barberstown Castle
Barberstown Castle was originally built in 1288 in Straffan, Co. Kildare. It has been operating as a hotel since 1971 and is surrounded by 20 acres (81,000 m2) of gardens. Renovations in 1996 revealed a previously undiscovered tunnel that links the castle to the nearby church in Straffan and is thought to have been used during penal times.
The K-Club
The Kildare Hotel and Golf Club (abbreviated The K Club) is a golf and leisure complex located at Straffan, County Kildare, Ireland. It is built on the old grounds of Straffan House and at present is jointly owned by Michael Smurfit and Gerry Gannon. The origins of Straffan House date back to around 550AD, with the house being built in the 1830's by Hugh Barton, and remained in the Barton family until 1949. The K-Club was host to the world famous Ryder Cup golf championship in 2006.

Castletown House
Castletown House, Celbridge, County Kildare, Ireland's finest Palladian country house, is an imposing building built in 1722 for William Conolly, the Speaker of the Irish House of Commons. The main block was designed by Italian architect by Alessandro Galilei and the wings were added by Edward Lovett Pearce in 1724 and the huge construction was paid with money the Conolly family had acquired through selling land in other parts of Ireland.

The house was inherited by Tom Conolly in 1758 and the interior decoration was finished by his wife Lady Louisa (great-granddaughter of Charles II of England and Louise de Keroualle) during the 1760s and 1770s. Much of the work was carried out to designs of William Chambers. The Conolly family continued to live in their ancestral house until 1965, when it was sold along with its collections and land, some of which was built on.
Maynooth Colleges
The National University of Ireland, Maynooth was founded in 1997 by the Universities Act, 1997 as a constituent university of the National University of Ireland. It is Ireland's second oldest university institution, tracing its origins back to the foundation in 1795 of St Patrick's College, Maynooth.

St Patrick's College, Maynooth is the "National Seminary for Ireland", Pontifical University, and was a college of the National University of Ireland. The college and seminary often called Maynooth College located at Maynooth, Ireland. The college was officially established as the Roman Catholic College of St Patrick by an Act of Grattan's Parliament in 1795, Mr. Thomas Pelham, the Secretary of State, introduced his Bill for the foundation of a Catholic college. There were 65 men studying for the priesthood at Maynooth, in 2008, now the only seminary in Ireland.
Japanese Gardens at The Irish National Stud
The lands of the Irish National Stud include the world-famous Japanese Gardens. The Japanese Gardens at Tully were created between the years 1906 and 1910. The Gardens, planned to symbolise the 'Life of Man', are now of international renown and are acclaimed as the finest Japanese Gardens in Europe. The Irish National Stud is a horse breeding facility based at Tully, Kildare, County Kildare, Ireland. It was formally established by incorporation on 11 April 1946 under the National Stud Act, 1945 and is owned by the Irish Government.
